Refute Modalism

YouTube: Playlist

What is Modalism?  Modalism is the belief that Yehovah God the Father is the Son and is the Holy Spirit, that God is playing different "roles" or taking on different "modes" hence the name Modalism.  So essentially God is playing three different people like an act, Jesus is the Father of himself and is the Holy Spirit.  - Modalism with these below points is clearly a contradiction of what the Bible says.
**** THIS PAGE IS BEING UPDATED CURRENTLY ******

1) MALACHI 3:6 (See also: John 1:1-14) - says Yehovah doesn't change so he can not be Yeshua (Jesus)

2) James 1:16-17 (See also: John 1:1-14, Malachi 3:6) God does not change.
3) LUKE 22:42 - Yeshua (Jesus) says not my will but yours when speaking of the Father (clearly distinct persons)

4) John 5:30 - Yeshua (Jesus) says he can't do things by himself this is a contradiction if he is Yehovah.
5) John 17:1-5 - Yeshua (Jesus) states the Father is the alone true God as if a different person to Jesus himself.
6) Revelation 3:12 - Yeshua (Jesus) claims to have a God but he is God the Father by Modalism standards.
7) John 20:17 - Yeshua (Jesus) claims that the Father is God of him and the disciples this would be **Contradictor** if he is the Father.
8) Acts 2:22 - Yeshua (Jesus) is a man which this verse says God did miracles through indicating separation in persons.
9) Acts 2:36 - Yeshua (Jesus) was made both lord and Christ, if he is the Father you can't make yourself something you already are.

10) John 8:54 - If I Glorify myself my Glory means nothing - If Yeshua is the Father and the Father glorifies him, he is Glorifying himself.
10) Hebrews 1:6 - The Angels are told by the Father to worship the Son, If the son is the Father why did he need to tell them that.

1) MALACHI 3:6 (See also: John 1:1-14) - says Yehovah doesn't change so he can not be Yeshua (Jesus).
Answer: Firstly the statement of the total of Yehovah in Malachi 3:6 of "I do not change" while we understand this is talking about his mind set his judgements and his covenants that do not change, he is consistent, this still shows the almighty Yehovah who knows all things could not be a human being lacking in knowledge because then his mind would change even as a man showing the inconsistency of the modalistic god.  Also according to logic if Yehovah did become a human being which lets assume he can do that it is not the fact that he become man that is the illogical part, the illogical part is the fact that human beings are not Yehovah by nature, so if human beings are not all powerful, all knowing, and being everywhere that would not be a man, that would be a Godman there for a man wouldn't have died for any sins but a Godman did, a piece of flesh with God driving it about like a man, that flesh stopped pumping blood around it and become dead, that is the illogical part that modalists have if it takes God to die for sins which is unbiblical then why doesn't he just forgive the sins of those who say sorry?  Rather than commit suicide, since that is essentially what the modalist God did, and in fact the Trinitarian God also did, however the Biblical Unitarian God didn't, but the Biblical Unitarian God saw this Man was going to be killed for doing as God said, Yehovah the Biblical Unitarian God foreseen what they would do and kill an innocent man so he accepted that death as the payment for sins which he Yehoshua shoudn't have died for, only the Biblical Unitarian stance makes any sense for the death of this man to be accepted by God because this man did no wrong.  Extra point:  Yehovah dwells in unapproachable light (1 Tim 6:14-16) which some say is talking about Yeshua but the verse says no one has seen this one who dwells in unapproachable light, people have seen Yeshua, also Yehovah, he is a consuming fire, he is not a man (Adam/Mankind). (Deuteronomy 4:24) if he is a consuming fire that is in unapproachable light and also no one has seen as stated before and we also in (John 1:18) no one has seen God the only begotten son made him known, so no one has seen God but Jesus the son made God known so he is the one who is unseen, has not been seen, can not be seen or lest we die (Exodus 33:20) he is in unapproachable light, and so on, it is clear therefore that Yeshua is not Yehovah God but is a man.

Points:  1) John 17:1-2 - You can't give yourself authority you still have the authority you had, you can't give yourself authority as a human being because if you are God and you don't change, this would assume since you dont change when you are a human you are God not changing so how can you give yourself as a human something you already had as God.  2) John 17:3 - Notice the separation in persons, Yeshua gives us eternal life which is to Believe in two people the Father as the alone true God and Yeshua as his messiah he sent, you can't send yourself.  3) John 17:5 -You can't have glory with yourself if Yeshua was Yehovah the Father God then him saying give me the glory I had with you before if this was pre-existence then Yeshua would have to be a separate person to Yehovah God, Modalism believes the Father is Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the Father in one person, so how can you have glory with a separate you who is you if you are him, it makes no logical sense you can not have Glory WITH someone if you are that someone you had glory with.

6 Revelation 3:12 - Yeshua (Jesus) claims to have a God but he is God the Father by Modalism standards.

7)
John 20:17 - Yeshua (Jesus) claims that the Father is God of him and the disciples this would be **Contradictor** if he is the Father.

8) Acts 2:22 - Yeshua (Jesus) is a man which this verse says God did miracles through indicating separation in persons.

8) Acts 2:36 - Yeshua (Jesus) was made both lord and Christ, if he is the Father you can't make yourself something you already are.
