ILLEISM (3rd PERSON FORM OF SPEECH)
Throughout the Bible we see what are forms of Hebraisms when people speak in the third person of themselves as if they are speaking of someone else for example: A Father speaking to his child "Daddy is proud of you." Is the Father not the Father or Dad of the child and is speaking of someone else who is? So let us move to some biblical verses showing explicitly this.
Genesis 4:23-24 - 23 Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah, Listen to my voice, You wives of Lamech, Pay attention to my words, For I have killed a man for wounding me; And a boy for striking me! 24 If Cain is avenged seven times, Then Lamech seventy-seven times!”
Is Lamech saying his wives married another man with the same exact name? Since it says Lamech said to HIS wives listen to my voice you wives of Lamech, it is clear either this is a form of Hebrew speech where they talk of themselves in a third person singular form or Lamech married women who were married to another person who is called Lamech, it is clear that this therefore negates any argument for when Yehovah speaks of himself in third person like Yehovah speaking says "I will save them by Yehovah their God." clearly as we see in Hosea 1:4-7 - 4 And the Lord said to him, “Name him Jezreel; for in just a little while I will [c]punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. 5 On that day I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.” 6 Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And [d]the Lord said to him, “Name her [e]Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer take pity on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them. 7 But I will take pity on the house of Judah and save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”
So we notice Yehovah speaks of himself by saying his name, just like Lamech said for his wives to listen to him while referring to himself as Lamech not to me your husband form of speech. So Lamech can in a third person singular form of speech tell his wives to listen to him you wives of Lamech and Yehovah can say I will save them by Yehovah their God referring to himself you could say for example Yehovah said I will save them by my self. There are other verses for example where Yeshua also referred to himself as the Son of Man as if he was talking of someone else in this next passage.
John 6:26 - 26 Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw [a]signs, but because you ate some of the loaves and were filled. 27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His [b]seal.”
So is Yeshua not the Son of Man that he is speaking of that gives eternal life food? It is evident then that this is called a hebraism and it is a way Jews would speak referring to themselves the singular person in the third person singular.
