TORAH
Relating To Torah Standing:
My argument will be as with the page of Yehovah on the site hanging on that we must listen to Yehoshua (Jesus) other wise we will be required or held accountable for not doing so, so let us start with.
Deuteronomy 18:18-19 [ASV]- 18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
It is evident that Yehovah our God is telling us to listen or hear what this prophet has to say because Yehovah himself raises up this prophet and speaks through him by placing his words on the prophet by commanding him what to say, so now we must give evidence of this being about Yehoshua (Jesus) the Messiah and if it is Yehoshua (Jesus) the Messiah that we must listen to or we will be held accountable or have it required of us for not listening, we best believe what Yehoshua (Jesus) says because when Yehoshua (Jesus) speaks it is as good as Yehovah God speaking directly to us, because he is the one speaking the words of Yehovah for us to obey.
Acts 3:19-22 [ASV] - 19 Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that he may send the Christ who hath been appointed for you, even Jesus: 21 whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, whereof God spake by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from of old. 22 Moses indeed said, A prophet shall the Lord God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like unto me; to him shall ye hearken in all things whatsoever he shall speak unto you.
I will now be proving that the Deuteronomy passage is about Yehoshua (Jesus) in the next coming verses and from there on I will be making my point clear that the Torah which is the Law still stands today, but first let us prove that this passage is about Yehoshua which you would have seen on other pages of this site also.
John 8:40 [ASV] - 40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I heard from God: this did not Abraham.
John 12:48-50 [ASV] - 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life eternal; the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak.
We will be showing now since we must listen to Yehoshua (Jesus) in relation to the Torah, the Law if it stands or not if we do not listen to Yehoshua (Jesus) we will be held accountable for ignoring his words, so now onto the proof the Torah stands.
Matthew 5:17-18 [ASV] - 17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
Notice the highlights show that Yehoshua (Jesus) did not come to destroy the law or prophets but to fulfill now if you wish you can research the word fulfill which means to make full, fill up, to fill and then goes on to speak about making the law being obeyed in its proper meaning or way, it wouldn't make sense of Yehoshua (Jesus) to say do not think I come to destroy which would mean do away with, but then for him to say but I have fulfilled which means now no one has to do it which essentially means it is done away with because it doesn't have to be kept. Now on to my secondary point which is why I will be bringing context relating and that is the heavens and earth passing away nothing leaves the law until all is accomplished, well all is not accomplished which you can research in Daniel 7, Zechariah 14, however I will be bringing up Isaiah 65:17-20 relating my proof which gives context to what Yehoshua (Jesus) is saying in this verse, but these verses have not been fulfilled so then nothing can leave the Law but I will give more additional points to make this even more explicit and impossible to refute that the Law is undoubtedly still standing.
Mathew 7:21-23 [ASV] - 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
In other translations the word for iniquity is lawlessness, if you wish to check other translations you can but notice Yehoshua (Jesus) tells them to leave him for he does not know them. Now we can move on to the supporting context to Yehoshua (Jesus) statement in Matthew 5:17-18 in the next verses.
2 Peter 3:10-13 [ASV] - 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy living and godliness, 12 looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
So according to Peter we are awaiting the destruction of heavens and earth with intense fire, and that this is promised already that we are looking for where there is new heavens and a new earth which righteousness dwells. Keep this in mind as we see our next verse which I stated we would bring up earlier because this is the promise in which Peter is actually talking about.
Isaiah 65:17-20 [ASV] - 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people; and there shall be heard in her no more the voice of weeping and the voice of crying. 20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days; for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed.
So now you have seen that Yehovah already promised the creation of new heavens and a new earth in Isaiah here, this is the promise which Peter was talking about as we have clearly unambiguously seen, remember Yehoshua said until heaven and earth pass nothing leaves the Law, but this verse in Isaiah is not the end as we finalise in the next verse before again the summary on Torah still standing, also we clearly see this has not already happened which some people believe the temple is called heaven and earth and when that was destroyed that is what was spoken of because it says no one will die the way we still are today, not only that but it quite clearly was speaking of real heavens and earths being destroyed if you read the entire chapter as the first heaven and earth was destroyed by floods in 2 Peter 3. Additional point also Peter is writing after Yehoshua did so it can't be talking of his body as the temple that is called heaven and earth because by this point Yehoshua (Jesus) was dead and resurrected so must be a literal heaven and earth as seen in this run down of my points.
Revelation 21:1-4 [ASV] - 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God: 4 and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.
So we again clearly see the same thing stated in Isaiah, here in Revelations that heaven and earth disappears, that there will be no pain no tears, and here no death for the first things have passed on, so remember Yehoshua (Jesus) said nothing leaves until heaven and earth disappears and all is accomplished so therefore it is clear anyone who claims that it has been done and the law no more exists they then are calling Yehoshua a liar in Matthew 5:17-18 as seen earlier.
Summary on Torah still standing according to Yehoshua (Jesus):
1) Like before relating to Yehovah page the same argument stands, we will be held accountable or have it required of us if we do not listen to Yehoshua as shown according to Deuteronomy 18:15-19 which is tied into Acts 3:19-22.
2) Yehoshua states explicitly nothing leaves the Law not a jot or tittle nothing leaves it until heavens and earth pass and all things are accomplished in Matthew 5:17-18 which we know have not yet as you can see if you read Daniel 7, Zechariah 14, and also in Isaiah 65:17-20 not being fulfilled or accomplished yet.
3) We know also that the heavens and earth have not been destroyed as of yet, because we still await this promise as seen in 2 Peter 3:10-13 and these heavens and earth can't be talking of the body as a temple of Yehoshua as by Peter's writings Yehoshua (Jesus) was already dead and resurrected at this point. So it would have to be a literal destruction of this creation and a new heaven and earth as also seen in the verses already stated but I will state again in Isaiah 65:17-20 and Revelation 21:1-4.
So unless your version of Yehoshua (Jesus) is a liar saying nothing leaves the law until this event happens but now actually you don't have to keep the Torah it no longer stands, the Law is done away then that form of Yehoshua (Jesus) lied and then could not have died for any ones sins because he would have falsely testified of events and had also have been a false prophet, giving false prophecies. Whether you believe what is written here or not just remember that we are all to stand before Yehovah almighty the Father God who judges through the man Yehoshua (Jesus) who he appoints in Acts 17;31 and in Romans 2:16 also, so while it would be sad to hear you do not believe at the end of the day your choices will ultimately effect yourself and your own eternal salvation not mine or anyone else's so sincerely seek Yehovah God the Father who is God alone and I hope you find the truth.
Shalom.
